ADHA MEMBER DISTRIBUTES FERTILIZER, WATER PUMPS TO FARMERS IN LAMURDE


Dry season farmers in Lamurde Local Government Area in Adamawa state may have cause to smile, as the member representing the constituency at the House of Assembly, Hon. Myandassa Bauna has distributed 134 bags of fertilizer and 3 water pumps to the farmers free of charge.

The distribution of the fertilizer and water pumps by the Lawmaker to farmers across 10 wards which comprise Lamurde LGA was to boost self reliance in food production in the area.

The presentation which was made at Dubwagun, a home town of member attracted beneficiaries, Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) faithful as well as well wishers who gathered to witness the event.

It could be recalled that in his efforts towards improving the living standard of his electorate, the Member had on 2nd February, 2020, distributed assorted empowerment items to his constituents.

The empowerment items distributed by the Legislator include; 3 Bajaj Motorcycles, 65 Water Pumps, 2 Sawing Machines, 240 Fishing Nets, 40 Knapsack Sprayers, Assorted Drugs for all Health Centers, Plastic Containers, cups, basins, buckets among others.

Speaking while presenting the commodities to the beneficiaries at Dubwagun today, the member appreciated them for their support and corporation, assuring them that he will continue to be committed and accountable to them throughout his stay in office.

He told them that he used part of his salary for the procurement of the fertilizer and the water pumps and that whatever he gets from the house, he will bring it them as promised during his electioneering campaign.

Hon. Myandassa said that 70 out of over 90 communities in Lamurde will benefit from the gesture, saying that it is better for him to come back home empty handed after the expiration of his tenure than to come back home rich with bad name.

According to him, he was voted as poor man and his concern is not how to enrich himself, but touch the lives of the people at the grassroots, appealing to them to continue in supporting the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.

The Legislator disclosed that he did not tell anybody that he was going to distribute any fertilizer, but knew that many have engaged into dry season farming and in dire need of assistance, hence his personal decision to reach out to them with the commodity.

He explained that providing dividends of democracy is part of his life, saying when he was a councillor, he impacted positively into the lives of his voters even at that time and promised to do more for the people of Lamurde as member.

While cautioning the beneficiaries not to sell the commodities presented to them, Hon. Myandassa Bauna told them that anybody that sells it has not done justice to him, appealing to them to ensure effective utilisation of the commodity so as to boost food production in the area.

In a welcome address, the Chairman PDP Dubwangun ward, Hon. Gabriel Rume who was represented by his Vice, Hon. Ayuba Buba commended the member for his people oriented representation, saying that Lamurde is lucky to have a member that has the love of his people at heart.

He stated that the member has made them proud in his representation, and called on the electorate to support him so as to enable him succeed at the house, calling on other legislators to borrow a leaf from Hon Myandassa.

In his vote of thanks, Evangelist Jonah Haruna thanked the member and prayed God to protect, guide and give him more wisdom so as to continue in providing dividends of democracy to his electorate.
