ENSURE TOTAL COMPLIANCE WITH LOCKDOWN ORDER, DPOs, AREA COMMANDERS TOLD


Determined to ensure total compliance with lockdown order imposed in Adamawa by the State Government, the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Madaki Audu has directed the Divisional Police Officers(DPOs) and Area Commanders to enforce the lockdown order throughout the state.

Recall that in its efforts to stem the spread of Corona Virus in the state, Governor Ahmadu Umaru had yesterday imposed lockdown in state for 14 days with effect from Tuesday midnight.

But to ensure compliance with the order, the Commissioner of Police directed his officers to enforce the order with a view to aid the government in containing / preventing the spread of the deadly disease.

A statement signed by the spokesman of the Command, DSP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje and made available to NEWS PLATFORM this evening, urged them to ensure that all legitimate orders given in pursuant to the containment efforts by the government are strictly enforced within their areas of jurisdiction.

 CP Madaki called on the officers to observe personal safety measures, further directed the Area commanders and DPOs to ensure interstate travel restrictions and international borders with Cameroon remain closed.

He further appealed to tricyclists, taxis and bus operators within the state to obey law and order, explaining that only ambulances, fire fighters and security vehicles, filling stations and Banks are allowed to render skeletal services.

He advised the citizens to avoid social activities such as clubbing, joints, social gathering and markets squares with the exception of food and water vendors.

However, ordered for the immediate deployment of  task force team to ensure compliance and enforcement, saying that the order has exempted those on essential services such as Medical Personnel, Firefighters, Journalists on official duties.
