MONITOR COMPLIANCE WITH LOCKDOWN ORDER, IYA ABBAS DIRECTS 7 MAN CMTE

Speaker Adamawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas has constituted a 7 Member Ad-Hoc Committee with a mandate to monitor compliance with the lockdown order imposed by the State Government.

Recall that in his efforts to stem the spread of Corona Virus in the state, Governor Ahmadu Umaru imposed a lockdown order in state for 14 days with effect from midnight of Tuesday 13th March, 2020.

But to ensure whether or not the citizens have complied with the order, the Speaker of the House of Assembly constituted a 7 member ad hoc committee and directed it to monitor the compliance.

Rt. Hon. Iya Abbas announced the composition of the Committee in a press release signed by  the clerk to the House, Alhaji Musa Ahmed Gaude.

According to the statement, the Chairman House Standing Committee on Security and Minority Whip of the House, Hon. Ibrahim Musa Italiya (Mayo Belwa) is to head the ad-hoc committee, while the Chief Whip of the House, Hon. Haruna Jilantikiri (Madagali) is to serve as Vice Chairman.

He said that other members of the committee include; Hon. Japhet Kefas (Gombi), Hon. Abdullahi Umar Nyako(Toungo), Hon. Bathiya Wesley  (Hong),  Hon. Abdullahi Umar Yapak (Verre), Hon. Alhassan Hammanjoda (Ganye) and Ya'uba A Abdullahi as Secretary of the ad-hoc committee.

Similarly, the statement also directed the staff of the Assembly to adhere strictly to the lock down order.
