POLICE NAB 4 SUSPECTED KIDNAPPERS, RECOVER WEAPONS IN ADAMAWA


In pursuance of the directives by the Commissioner of Police Adamawa state, Audu Madaki for the rescue of the kidnapped Chairman Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) state chapter, Comrade Hamma Jumba Gatugel, the police have succeeded in arresting 4 suspected kidnappers.

Those apprehended by the police include; Sunday Innocent, 33, Buba Kaijo, 37, Sanusi Shehu, 20, and Tercher Buwa 44.

According to the police, the suspects were arrested along Kojoli road in Jada Local Government Area in the state, and recovered 2 locally fabricated single barrel guns, 20 cartridges, fake military uniforms, charms among others.

The Chairman of the union was kidnapped by yet to be identified armed men at his residence in Mayo Belwa LGA in the early hours of Saturday.

A release by the spokesman of the Command, DSP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje and made available to NEWS PLATFORM Saturday, said when the command received information on the incident, the CP immediately deployed operatives to go after the kidnappers and ensure the victim is rescued unharmed and culprits apprehended.

DSP Nguroje said that the suspects had confessed to be among those terrorising Mayo-Belwa,Jada, Ganye and Toungo axis.

According to him, the suspects are now assisting the police with useful information that will lead to the rescue of the kidnapped NULGE chairman and others.

The statement further charged Area Commanders across the state to ensure adequate supervision of personnel under their watch, and ensure adequate security to lives and property.

 However, the CP expressed profound gratitude to the people of Adamawa for their resilience, and urged them to support and cooperate with Police at all times, assuring them of its commitment to protecting lives and property in the state.
