Comrade Rodney Nathan, Chairman NUT Adamawa State Chapter

As Adamawa Muslims are set to join their counterpart from around the world to commence 2020 Ramadan fast, the Nigeria Union of Teachers ( NUT) Adamawa state chapter has urged its members most especially Muslim faithful to pray fervently towards ending Covid-19 pandemic in the society.

The Union further asked the faithful to offer special prayers and supplications during this year's Ramadan fast to ensure the end of pandemic as it affects the future of students both in public and private schools.

A statement signed by the Chairman of the Union in the state, Comrade Rodney Nathan and made available to NEWS PLATFORM in Yola, the Adamawa state capital on Tuesday, called on them to seek divine intervention on the dreaded pandemic.

According to Comrade Rodney, "let the divinity of this Holy Month of Ramadan do away with all sinful deeds that might have gave birth to Covid-19 which is affecting lives, economy and future of our students whom we are grooming".

He prayed for a blessed Ramadan so as to renew, strengthen and give courage to teachers in order to  support Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri led administration in its efforts to winning the battle against the pandemic and other challenges besetting  the state.

He explained that the Holy Month of Ramadan annually provides ample opportunity for all Muslims to purify themselves and their hearts by fasting and praying as well as seeking for forgiveness from Almighty Allah.

Such obligation, according to the Union Leader, is critical particularly now that all Nigerian schools have been shutdown due to the dreaded disease.
