Honourable Members representing Mayo Belwa and Nasarawo Binyeri Constituencies at the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Hon Ibrahim Musa Italiya and Hon Umar Nashon Gubi have undertaken an on the spot assessment of facilities vandalised by Endsars protested in Mayo Local Government Area.
The two Legislators along side the Commissioner Ministry of Environment, Hon. Shaibu Audu and the Executive Chairman Mayo Belwa LGC, Hon. Gershon Kasuwa, and other Political Office Holders on Thursday inspected the vandalized public structures at the headquarters of the LGC.
Some of the public facilities visited by the delegation include Primary Healthcare Unit at the Secretariat of the LGC, Adamawa Agricultural Development Agency(AADP), Mayo Belwa Skills Acquisition Center.
Speaking while inspecting the affected areas, the Member representing Mayo Belwa and Chairman House Standing on Security, Hon. Ibrahim Musa Italiya, noted with concern the destruction of public facilities by the protesters.
Hon. Italiya further appealed to the people in the area remain calm and support the security personnel to recover the looted items.
On his part, the Member representing Nasarawo Binyeri Constituency and Chairman House Standing Committee on Local Government Affairs, Hon. Umar Nashon Gubi commended the Vigilante and Youth groups for the role they played in bringing the situation under control, urging them to sustain the spirit.
Earlier, in his remarks, the Commissioner Ministry of Environment, Hon Shuaibu Audu, said that already the State Government and relevant Security Operatives have met and discussed about the unfortunate incident.
Briefing the delegation, the Chairman Mayo Belwa LGC, Hon. Gershon Kasuwa and other Heads of Departments in the Council said that bags of fertilizer, office accessories, medical equipment and other valuables were looted, adding that the council in collaboration with security are working to recover some of the item.
