Stakeholders in Girei Local Government Area (LGA), Adamawa state on Thursday condoled the Assistant Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Girei LGA, Hon. Elisha Filibus of Ngawa, Jera Bakari ward in Girei LGA over the death of his first daughter, Remember Elisha Filibus.
The 23 year old Remember Elisha Filibus and a final year student Federal College of Education(FCE) Yola, died on Sunday 11th October, 2020 at the Specialist Hospital Yola after a brief illness and since been laid to rest according to Christian rites.
The Stakeholders including the Executive Chairman Girei LGC, Hon. Judah Amisa, the Commissioner Ministry of Livestock, Hon. Usman Yahaya Diyajo, the Chairman House of Assembly Service Commission (HASCO), Hon. Abdullahi Abubakar, the Chairman Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), Girei LGA, Hon. Mohammed Jidda Tukur, the Publicity Secretary PDP, Ustaz Halilu Hammanjoda, the Treasurer of the PDP, Hon. Mohammed Momo have sympathised with Hon. Elisha Filibus over the demise of his daughter.
Speaking while leading the delegation, the Executive Chairman of the LGC, Hon. Judah Amisa, condoled with Hon. Elisha Filibus and his entire family Members over the death, saying that his council and Girei citizens have received the news of Remember's death with a rude shock.
He said that whatever touches the PDP Secretary and erstwhile Supervisory Councillor or his family, touches all of them, hence their collective decision to come and identify with him and his family members at this time of bereavement.
Hon. Judah Amisa prayed God to console him, his immediate family members and friends over the sad incidence, and however prayed God to grant the departed soul eternal rest.
Also speaking, the Chairman House of Assembly Service Commission(HASCO) and former Speaker of the House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Abdullahi, urged the family to take heart and prayed God to grant them fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
On his part, the Chairman Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) Girei LGA, Mohammed Jidda Tukur, said that they were deeply saddened with the demise of the young girl, saying that the loss is not only to the family but the entire LGA.
Also speaking, the Publicity Secretary of the PDP Girei LGA, Ustaz Halilu Hammanjoda, sympathised with the family, saying that their thoughts and prayers also go out to the bereaved family.
Responding on behalf of the family, a Younger Brother to the Assistant Secretary, Jonathan Filibus of the Adamawa Press Limited, Yola, appreciated the delegation for identifying with them during the time of trial, and prayed God to reward them in many folds.
