Poised to advance social and economic condition of poor widows and less privileged in the society, the Wife of the Majority Leader Adamawa State House of Assembly, Fati Hammantukur Yettisuri has launched a Foundation in Jada Local Government Area.
The Wife of the Lawmaker representing Jada Mbulo constituency, launched Fati Mbulo Foundation (FMF) on Saturday so as to help poor widows and orphans being the most vulnerable in the society.
According to Fati, the FMF was founded in 2011, as Non Governmental Organisation (NGO) with the noble objectives which revolve around the wellbeing/ welfare of the widows and orphans not only in Jada but Adamawa and Nigeria as a whole.
While formally unveiling the Foundation in Jada on Saturday, the Founder distributed wrappers to widows and less privileged, and pledged the readiness of her Foundation towards reaching out to more of such people in order to improve their living standard.
Speaking while launching the Foundation at Government Lodge in Jada town, the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas, congratulated the Founder and prayed for the success of the foundation.
Rt. Hon. Iya Abbas, expressed optimism that the foundation will attain it noble objectives of touching the lives of the less privileged not only in Jada but Adamawa and Nigeria in general.
The Speaker however pledged the sum #500,000 and #250,000 on behalf of the Honourable Members and Iya Abbas Foundation respectively in support of FMF towards transforming the lives of the people.
In his remarks, the Chief Launcher and Member representing Gombi constituency, Hon. Japhet Kefas, lauded the spirit behind setting up the foundation with a view to helping the helpless.
Also speaking, the Majority Leader of the House of Assembly and husband of the Founder, said that his wife decided to launch the foundation so as to render help to the people in the society, saying that he is hopeful that the new foundation will succeed.
On his part, the Honourable Commissioner for Special Duties, Hon. Aloysiuos Babadoke, described the foundation as first of its kind in Jada, and appealed for support so as to enable it achieve its objectives.
In his welcome addresse, the Executive Chairman Jada LGC, Hon Abdulkareem Bakala, told the gathering that Jada has long been yearning for such foundation primarily founded to help the people at the grassroots, and thanked the Member and his Wife for the initiative.
