IYA ABBAS FOUNDATION BEGINS FREE MEDICAL TREATMENT TO 5000 PEOPLE

 


As part of effort to meet the health needs of the people in the society, the Iya Abbas Foundation has commenced free medical outreach to more than 5000 patients in Uba and Mararaba Mubi in Hong Local Government Area, Adamawa state.


The free medical treatment include Cataract Surgery, General Surgery and free treatment of other common ailments is being carried out by 10 Medical Doctors and 2 Consultants as organised/sponsored by the foundation.


According to the Foundation, the gesture is aimed at ensuring that the people in the affected Communities have access to quality healthcare services so as to contribute to their wellbeing and productivity.


In their remarks, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon.  Aminu Iya Abbas and the Chairman Board of Trustees of the Foundation, Usman Iya Abbas said that the gesture aimed keeping the legacy of their  late father, Abubakar Iya Abbas.


According to them,  the foundation will continue to identify areas of needs of the people for necessary intervention.


Also speaking on the exercise, the  Programme Coordinator of the Foundation, Dr. Hauwa Iya Abbas explained that the free medical outreach will cover 5000 patients, saying it will be carried out by 10 Medical Doctors including 2 Consultants. 


Dr. Hauwa further disclosed that the exercise has started yielding positive results, and assured of the Foundation's commitment to meeting the needs of the people at the grassroots.


Some of the beneficiaries of the free medical outreach appreciated the Foundation for reaching out to them, describing the exercise as first of its kind in the area.
