ARMY, POLICE STRENGTHEN TIES FOR SAFETY OF ADAMAWA CITIZENS

 


The 23rd Armored Brigade as well as the Adamawa State Police Command have pledged to synergise so as to provide adequate security in and around Adamawa state.


The Commander 23rd Brigade, Brig. Gen. Paul Zawaya, and the newly deployed Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, made the pledge when the former played host to the CP in Yola.


Speaking, the Commander 23rd Brigade, Brig. Gen. Paul Zawaya, emphasized the need for cooperation as well as collaboration among the security agencies to guarantee peace and security for the citizens. 


He assured the police command of his readiness to operate 24- hours open door policy of friendship, collaboration and cooperation, saying "Cooperation is a must among all security agencies as it is our collective responsibility to pull the country together in a better state".


Brig. Gen. Zawaya, said that the Nigerian Army and the Nigeria Police Force together with other security agencies must complement each other and strive towards achieving a common goal- which is a safe society for business to strive.


Earlier, in his remarks, the Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo in company of his management team said, his visit was to interact and interface with the Brigade to solicit for more support and cooperation to consolidate on the existing relationship.


CP Dankombo, disclosed that the Headquarters of the 23rd Brigade was one of his first point of call after assuming duty on 14th February, 2024.


He stated that security is a collective responsibility and the police being one of the lead agency in combating insecurity can not do it alone without support of other security agencies especially the army, hence the need to synergize with the leadership of 23rd Brigade.


He expressed delight for the warm reception he had received and further highlighted the cordial relationship the command had enjoyed from the army overtime.


 Highlights of the visit were the presentation of mometoes,  signing of the visitors book and group photograph.
