The Member representing Uba/Gaya constituency at the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Eng. John Adun Alaba, has welcomed the Supreme Court’s dismissal of an appeal against Governor Ahmafu Umaru Fintiri.
The apex court on Wednesday, dismissed the appeal filed before it by the embattled Governorship Candidate of the APC, Aishatu Dahiru Binani, challenging the election of Governor Fintiri.
In his congratulatory message, Hon. John Adun Alaba, felicitated with Fintiri, his Deputy, Prof. Kaletapwa Farauta, PDD members, and teeming supporters in and around the state.
The lawmaker pointed out that the judgement is worthy of celebration and described it as ‘landmark’, stressing that the affirmation of Fintiri's electoral victory is a confirmation of an overwhelming support to the "Fresh Air Governor".
According to him, the judgement of the court has validated the decision of most Adamawa electorate whom they had expressed in their overwhelming votes entrusted to him during 2023 governorship election.”
He pledged the support and loyalty of Uba/Gaya electorate to Governor Fintiri led administration to enable it continue in providing dividends of democracy, and specifically commended Fintiri, for achievements recorded critical sectors.
While commending the judiciary for standing firm in defending democracy, Hon. Eng. John Adun Alaba, prayed God to continue to grant Fintiri sound health and wisdom to deliver on his mandate.
