POLICE ARREST 4 FOR ROBBING ADAMAWA COMMISSIONER OF TOYOTA HILUX, OTHERS



In its renewed commitment towards curtailing crime and criminality, the Adamawa State Police Command has apprehended 4 suspects for allegedly robbing Commissioner Ministry of Environment, Hon. Muhammed Sadiq Wali, of his official vehicle as well as other valuables.


The gallant operatives of the command have also succeeded in recovering the stolen Toyota Hilux, Barreta Pistol, 3 live ammunitions, 2 Anti-trackers Handsets, foreign currency among others.


The suspected armed robbers include Salihu Buhari 38, and Abdullahi Abubakar, 35, residents of Garoua in Cameroon Republic, Isa Adamu, 55, Tudun Wada, Sokoto State and Mustapha Muhammed, 47 of Lelewalji, Girei Local Government Area.


A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, and made available to News Platform on Monday, said that the suspects were arrested on the 12th February, 2024.


SP Nguroje explained that the culprits were nabbed by a combined team of police operatives attached to Girei Divisional Police Headquarters after attacking the house of the affected Commissioner and robbing him of his car among others.


He stated that the success followed an operational strategy introduced by the ommand to checkmate criminal activities such as armed robbery, "shilla gangsterism, kidnapping among others within and outside the State Capital, and assured that the suspects will be prosecuted.
