INSECURITY: ADHA PLANS LAW TO REGULATE, CREATE BOARD FOR HUNTERS

The Adamawa State House of Assembly has started a legislative process to enact a law that will regulate the activities of various hunter groups in the state.


The proposed legislation when enacted will establish, regulate and control the hunters association to complement the effort of other security agencies in curtailing crime.


Tagged ‘A Bill for a Law to Provide for the Establishment, Regulation and Control of Adamawa State Hunters Association" is sponsored by Hon. Babangida Mohammed Njidda( Nasarawo Binyeri).


The bill was on Tuesday, scaled 1st reading at the assembly presided by its Speaker, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, and also slated for 2nd reading at the next legislative day.


While speaking on the merit of the bill, Hon. Babangida Mohammed Njidda, explained that the legislation is aimed at harmonising all the segments or groups of hunters.


Hon. Babangida, pointed out that it will create a board to enable them operate under one umbrella, make provision for their stipends or allowances to support them in their activities.


According to him, without control and regulation, the members of the association will become a menace in the society, adding that the legislation will bring sanity in the association.


Hon. Babangida Mohammed Njadda, added that the bill will also regulate the way the hunters use weapons, saying that his effort is to ensure that the hunters operate under one body.
