The Commissioner of Police, Adamawa State, CP Dankombo Morris, has ordered watertight security patrol around worship centers as well as other strategic places to ensure a peaceful and crime free Eater celebrations.
The CP, has also ordered all Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), Operational Commanders and their Supervising Area Commanders to personally lead the men deployed to areas to curtail security threats.
A statement by the PPRO, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, said that the order is line with the commitment of the Inspector General of Police system of policing.
SP Nguroje, said that the CP has ordered for 24/7 police presence to dominate the public spaces across the State.
The statement said, "The proactive visibility patrols will be conducted at all places of worship, event centers, residential areas as well as other places of functions".
It re-assured Adamawa State Government and good people of the State of CP's commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens as they celebrate Easter.
"The Command emphasised the importance of professional conduct among its officers deployed for these duties and warned that all officers to be accountable and transparent while discharging their responsibility", the statement stated.
The CP felicitated with the Government and people of the state especially the Christian community, on the occasion of the Easter celebration and urged everyone to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest Police Station.
