ADAMAWA POLICE NAB CHAIR MIYETTI ALLAH OVER N2.4M EXTORTION



Adamawa State Police Command has arrested the Chairman Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, Adamawa State, Alhaji Jaoji Isa, over allegation of extortion.


Alh. Jaoji, who is the Chairman of the association Adamawa State, was accused of extorting a member of the public the sum N2.4million.


A release by the Spokesman of the command, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, and made available to newsmen in Yola on Tuesday, explained that the Chairman was nabbed following the allegation leveled against him.


"The Police Command wishes to announce that investigation was conducted which led to the arrest of the person responsible for this conduct.


"The Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, as part of his commitment to upholding the highest standard of integrity and accountability, has ordered the commencement of investigation to ensure that this ugly trend of extortions of innocent people does not repeats itself. 


"The CP also emphasised the imperativeness that those found to have violated the trust placed in them by the public will face consequences of their actions, as such behavior not only tarnishes the reputation of the force but also undermines the collective efforts to maintain law and order in the state", the release added.


It said that the command remains resolute in its quest to uphold the standard of professionalism, integrity, and accountability as guardian of public safety and the rule of law.


It assured that they are committed to ensuring that they maintain public trust and will continue to take decisive action against criminal elements.
