The Speaker Adamawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, has reminded Christians on the need to appreciate the sacrifice and love shown by Jesus Christ on the cross.
Rt. Hon. Bathiya, also tasked faithful on prayers for peace and unity of the state as they join other faithful around the world in celebrating 2024 Easter.
The Speaker in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Hyellamada Bernard, described Easter as a period of sober reflection which Christains should put into consideration as they commemorate Easter.
He noted that this year's Easter coincided with the period when Muslim brothers and sisters are observing Ramadan fast, and stressed the need to come together and continue to pray for the state and the country to overcome the current challenges.
"Coming together in period like this will go a long way in promoting peace and unity among the people, he further explained.
The statement advised citizens to should use the period to show love to others as both faith preach on the need to extend a hand of fellowship especially to the less privileged during hard times.
He called for prayers and support to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri as he pilots the affairs of the state.
