ADHA Approves N4.5billion for Payment of Overseas Scholarship
Adamawa State House of Assembly on Tuesday, approved an external virement of the sum of N4.5billion for the payment of scholarship in respect of 100 students studying at various universities in Turkey.
The approval was sequel to the consideration of the letter forwarded to the assembly by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and read at the plenary by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley.
In his letter, Governor appealed to the assembly to consider and approve the external virement to facilitate the payment of overseas scholarship and administrative charges in respect of the students.
He informed the assembly that the State Executive Council at its 15th (2025) meeting held on Monday 8th September, 2025 considered and approved the virement.
While moving a motion for the considering of the letter, the Majority Leader, Hon. Kate Raymond Mamuno, of Demsa Constituency, urged the assembly to approve the virement for the benefit of the students studying overseas.
Thereafter, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, who presided the sitting, directed the clerk to communicate the resolution of the assembly to the executive arm for necessary action.
