COURT FIXES JULY 13 FOR JUDGEMENT IN SUIT AGAINST POS OPERATOR WHO SWINDLED N659, 000,

 


Chief Magistrate Court 2 in Yola, Adamawa state has admitted corroborative evidence against a Female POS Operator Esther Felix, who swindled the sum of N659, 000, of her Boss, Edet Okposong.


Esther Felix of Bayero Hungushi street in Jimeta Yola is currently standing trial over alleged criminal breach of trust where she admitted swindling the said amount which belongs to her Boss and has since used over N450, 000 and bought clothes.


Upon her arraignment in court last week, the middle age girl told the court that she converted the money to her personal use where she used over N450, 000 and bought clothes, saying that she actually committed the offence.


After entering her plea, the court presided by Magistrate Japhet Ibrahim Basani, remanded the girl at Yola correctional centre and adjourned the case to the 30th July, 2021, to enable the prosection call a witness and tender evidence to corroborate the plea of the defendant.


But at its resumed sitting on 30th June, the court admitted the corroborative evidence as well as the testimony of the prosecution witness.  


Thereafter, the Prosecutor, Inspector Boyom Alex, prayed the to summararily try the defendant having closed its case, after which the court adjourned the matter to the 13th July, 2021 for judgement.
