Shamsudeen Mohammed, of the Department of Criminology and Security of the College for Legal Studies Yola, in Adamawa State and 3 others have been remanded for allegedly defiling a 14 year old boy (names withheld)
The accused, Shamsudeen Mohammed, 25, Aliyu Yakubu, 23, Husseini Ja'afar, 19 and Abba Kano(now at large) of Jimeta in Yola North Local Government Area, have been kept behind bars pending legal advice from the Department of Public Prosecution.
Shamsudeen and 2 others who were arrested and arraigned before Chief Magistrate Court Yola town today, were alleged to have inserted their sex organs into the anus of the JSS 3 Student of Demsawo Secondary School and forcefully had canal knowledge of him on the 1st July, 2021.
They were charged to court for alleged criminal conspiracy and un-natural offence contrary to sections 60 and 263 Penal Code Law of the State 2018.
An elder brother of the boy(names withheld) who appeared in court together with the victim, exclusively narrated to NEWS PLATFORM, that the little boy came back home on the aforestated date and was complaining of his waist and knees.
He stated that they took the boy to Specialist Hospital for medical attention and that upon their arrival, the victim sat down, saying that when he stood up, they saw blood and water at the place where he sat down.
According to him, the medical personnel checked the victim's anus and still saw blood and water coming out from the anus, adding that they were later told by the personnel that the boy had been defiled.
He said the boy refused to tell who committing the act until when they threatened to beat (flog) him, saying that the boy informed them that defendants threatened to kill him if he dare reveal their identity.
But when the First Information Report was read and interpreted to the defendants upon their arraignment as prayed by the Prosecutor, Inspector Zakka Musa, 2 of the defendants, Aliyu and Husseini, admitted committing the crime, while Shamsudeen pleaded not guilty.
Husseini confessed that he only committed sodomy with the boy since January, 2021, while Aliyu said he lured the boy into his room and defiled him after he had watched blue film on his phone.
On his part, Shamsudeen told the Magistrate Court that he did not defile the boy, but only kissed him.
Thereafter, the Prosecutor, Inspector Zakka Musa, urged the court to remand the defendants at the correctional centre to enable them duplicate the case file and forward to DPP for legal advice.
In her ruling, Magistrate Jummai Ibrahim, ordered that the defendants be remanded at the correctional centre and adjourned the case to the 5th August, 2021, for further mention.
