Critical Stakeholders of the People's Democratic Party(PDP) in Demsa Local Government Area, Adamawa state have reacted on the defection of former Senator Southern Senatorial Zone, Grace Folashade Bent, to the All Progressives Congress(APC).
According to the Stakeholders, the structure of the party in Demsa LGA is intact in spite of the defection and ready to re-elect Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, for second term come 2023 to enable him continue in providing dividends of democracy to his electorate not only in Demsa but across the state.
The Stakeholders are; Hon. Kate Raymond Mamuno, Member representing Demsa constituency at the State House of Assembly, Hon. James Iliya, Commissioner Ministry for Enterpreneurship and Cooperative, Hon. Elkanah Kados Fwa, Chairman Demsa LGC, Mr. Hadley Peter Dilli, Special Adviser to Governor Fintirti on Works and Energy, Leadership of the party at the LG level and other party faithful.
The Stakeholders who reacted on the defection during a press conference at PDP State Secretariat on Monday, assured that the LGA is intact and still remains the stronghold of the party in the state, describing the defection of Senator Bent as a welcome development.
Addressing the press on behalf of the Stakeholders, the Special Adviser to Governor Fintirti on Works and Energy, Mr. Hadley Peter Dilli, said that they came to PDP Secretariat to make it categorically clear to the party machinery at the State and by extension the Nation at large that the party is not distracted by the action of Senator Bent.
Mr. Hadley, assured Governor Fintiri that the massive support he recorded in 2019, will increase in 2023, despite the defection of only one among supporters of the party, and urged Fintiri, not to be distracted by the insignificant effect that the defection has on the party in Demsa.
He appealed to the Governor to continue to execute developmental projects he earmarked for Demsa in view of the support his administration enjoys in Demsa, so that the cheap propaganda machinery that Demsa did not receive its fair share in spite of its effort in bringing the adminstration to power will be debunked.
