An 18 year old step mother, Aisha Muhammed of Wuro Patuji in Mubi South Local Government Area, Adamawa State has been arrested for torturing her 5 year old step daughter with hot iron on her private part.
Aisha Mohammed has been apprehended by the Police in Mubi on the 1st July, 2021 for allegedly torturing/injuring the innocent girl with hot as a result of which she inflicted injuries on her private part.
A statement by the Command's Spokesman, DSP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, and made available to NEWS PLATFORM on Friday, said that the mother of the victim had been divorced and that the suspect took the advantage and started torturing the girl for urinating on her bed.
"Investigation revealed that the suspect being the second wife to the victim's father, committed the offence by using hot iron, tortured and inflicted injury on the private part of the baby because discharged urine on her bed" said Nguroje.
He said "the wicked step mother was arrested by the Police in Mubi South Local Government following report received from Aisha Abdullahi (mother of the victim ) and Barrister Khadija Nasir a female Lawyer"
The statement however conveyed the commendation of the Commissioner of Police, CP Aliyu Adamu Alhaji, to Federation of Women Lawyers(FIDA) and police for exposing and making it impossible for her to escape justice, and directed for discreet investigation into the matter.
Meanwhile, as part of effort at tackling crime, the CP has deployed officers of the Family Unit/Human Right Section to go after anyone committing such heinous crime and apprehend them, and called on people to always report people of suspicious character around their neighborhood to police.
