YOLA COURT FIXES OCT 24TH FOR JUDGEMENT ON 4 "SHILA" BOYS

 



The Chief Magistrate Court 5 sitting in Yola, Adamawa state has fixed the 24th October, 2024, for corroboration and summary trial of 4 arraigned before it for multiple offences. News Platform 


The defendants including Sadiq Usman, 20, Abbaji Ibrahim,18, Abdul Jibrin, 20, and Labaran Muhammed, 20, were arraigned on Friday by the prosecutor, ASP Iliya Akawu, who represented the Commissioner of Police.


Chief Magistrate Jummai Ibrahim (DCR), the presiding judge, fixed the date following the arraignment and the subsequent plea of guilt separately entered by the defendants.


However after the defendants' plea, the court ordered their remand in Yola prison custody and adjourned the case for corroboration and subsequent summary trial under section 351(1) of the Administration Criminal Justice Law 2018. 

 

Sadiq and 3 others are facing trial on offences boredering "criminal conspiracy, prohibition of illicit drugs and banned substance, unlawful possession of weapons, and an attempt to commit to wit- armed robbery" contrary to sections 60, 271, 399 and 59 of the penal code law 2018.


Earlier, ASP Akawu, informed the court that the defendants were apprehended on the 5th October, 2024, at Gerio Junction following series of complaints by the inhabitants Jambutu in Yola North LGA.


He said that the operatives of the command nabbed them in possession of dangerous weapons such as dagger and knive and that they had confessed to selling and consuming tramadol, exol and indian hemp.
