THREE DEAD AS CANOE CAPSIZES IN ADAMAWA

At least three people have been confirmed dead following a canoe accident in Borong, Demsa local government Area of Adamawa State on Tuesday.

According to Umar Musa, one of the passengers, the canoe hit a piece of wood in the river, causing panic among the passengers. Some passengers jumped into the water, while others stayed in the canoe and were rescued.

One person who jumped into the water was found dead, and two others were reported missing.

Abubakar Shuaibu, another passenger, expressed concern over the incident, stating that many passengers wanted to jump into the water when the canoe hit the wood.

He however said, the driver has earlier advised against jumping into the river, but the victims failed to comply.
