BILLS TO REVERT SALARIES OF JUDICIARY, ADHA, AG, STAFF, OTHERS SCALE 2ND READING



Bills to revert salaries and allowances of the Staff of Judiciary, State Legislature, Accountant General have scaled 2nd reading at the Adamawa State House of Assembly on Tuesday. News Platform 


Others are bills to revert salaries and allowances of the staff of the State Auditor-General, Local Government Auditor-General, Adamawa State Debt Management Agency and Adamawa State Public Procurement.


Others include a bill for a law to repeal the Adamawa State new condition of service for Magistrates, Area Court Judges, Law Officers and Legal Officers and that of the Adamawa State Physical Responsibility Commission.  


The executive bills were sponsored in order to revert the salaries and allowances of the affected staff to normal civil service scale to enable them benefit from the new national minimum wage/ consequential adjustment.


The 2nd reading of the bills followed separate motions by the Majority Leader, Hon. Kate Raymond Mamuno (Demsa) and seconded by several lawmakers.


After the 2nd reading of the bills, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, who presided over the sitting, referred  them to House Committees for further legislative action.


The Cmmittees include Finance, Budget and Appropriation, Judiciary, Public Accounts, State Planning, and House Services and given one week to submit their reports.
