Adamawa State House of Assembly on Monday, passed 4 bills including a bill for a law to prohibit any form discrimination against Persons Living With Disability in the state. News Platform
The bills enacted include a bill for a Law to establish Adamawa State Climate Change Commission to Provide for Mainstreaming of Climate Change Actions and to provide for other matters incidental.
The lawmakers also passed a bill for a law to provide for Prohibition of Spillage of Sand, Laterite and Gravel on the Highways and other Roads in the state and for matters connected thereto
The above bills were sponsored by the member representing Mubi South Constituency, Hon. Yohanna Sahabo Jauro.
Another bill enacted by the hallowed chamber is tagged, "A Bill for a law to amend Adamawa State Public Procurement) law 2020 so as to make the Appointment of Chairman and Three Members who are Non-Ex-Officio Members Full-Time".
Likewise, a bill for a law to rapeal Adamawa State Disability Right Commission Law No. 14 of 2016 and Re-enact Adamawa State Persons with Disability Law Commission to ensure Full Integration of Persons with Disability into the Society, prohibit any form of Discrimination against them was also passed by the legislators.
The passage of the bills followed separate motions sponsored by the Majority Leader and Member representing Demsa constituency at the assembly, Hon. Kate Mamuno Raymond.
After the enactment of the bills, the Speaker of the assembly, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, who presided over the sitting, directed the clerk to the assembly to prepare a clean copies of the bills for Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri's assent.
