The Adamawa State Police Command has beefed up security around the state capital ahead of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun.
IGP Kayode is expected in Yola, Adamawa State tomorrow Thursday 27th March, 2025 to commission Ultra-Modern Police Headquarters complex.
In order to ensure peaceful and successful commissioning ceremony , the Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police Department of Operations and supervising Area Commanders Yola and Karewa to coordinate the security deployment at all key locations where the Police Boss, dignitaries and VIPs will be hosted.
Strategic areas where the command has deployed its personnel Lamido Aliyu International Airport, Road leading to Government House, Lamido's palace among others.
According to the command's Spokesman, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the Commanding officer 14pmf will lead the armed men drawn from the tactical teams including Special protection units, Counter terrorism units, amongst others to position themselves at all the entry and exit roads.
He said said that the Traffic Control Officers will be led by Officer in charge of Central motor traffic Division (CMTD) to ensure free flow of traffic.
Additionally, the Anti Bomb Squad and Crowd control police men have been deployed to scan, coordinate and secure the places of interest, to prevent any security threats and deal with emergency situations.
