SEN AMOS YOHANNA: CHAMPIONING LEGISLATION FOR DEVT



Distinguished Senator Amos K. Yohanna, representing Adamawa North Senatorial District, continues to demonstrate his commitment to legislative excellence and national development. 


In 2025 alone, he has presented two critical bills that have successfully scaled the first reading in the Senate:  


1. The Public Infrastructure Maintenance Bill, 2025 (SB 732) 

2. The Federal University of Agriculture Act Amendment Bill, 2025


The Public Infrastructure Maintenance Bill seeks to establish a strong legal and legislative framework for the upkeep of public infrastructure in Nigeria. 


When passed, this bill will ensure that public facilities are not only properly maintained but also governed by clear regulations to prevent misuse and deterioration. 


This proactive approach will enhance the longevity of critical national assets, ultimately fostering sustainable development.  


On the other hand, the Federal University of Agriculture Act Amendment Bill is designed to provide the newly established Federal University of Agriculture, Mubi, with the necessary legal backing for its seamless operation. 


By ensuring a robust legal foundation, this bill will secure the institution’s credibility, facilitate its growth, and empower it to fulfill its mandate of advancing agricultural education and research.  


Senator Amos Yohanna remains unwavering in his dedication to legislative progress, always prioritizing initiatives that enhance governance, education, and public service delivery.

Breaking: Court Sends Gambo Nakura to Prison for Insulting Ribadu, Alisha Buhari, Others

The Chief Magistrate Court II sitting in Yola, Adamawa State has remanded the Chairman Concern Citizens Adamawa State, Alh. Husseini Bello Gambo Nakura in prison custody over multiple offences. News Platform  The court presided by Magistrate M. A. Adamu, remanded the defendant in prison custody and adjourned the case to the 17th September, 2025 for commencement of hearing. Magistrate Adamu ordered the remand of Nakura when he was arraigned before him over multiple allegations slammed against him by the Adamawa State Police Command. Alh. Gambo Nakura was arraigned before the court for the offences of defamation of character, use of insulting and abusive language, disturbance of public peace and inciting disturbance contrary to sections 378, 379, 385 and 80 of the penal code law. The Michika Concerned Citizens in Adamawa State have blasted the former Governor of Adamawa State, Boni Haruna for his outright disrespect to the Paramount Ruler of Michika Chiefdom, HRM. Prof. Bulus Luka Gadiga. The leadership of the concerned citizens took a swipe at the erstwhile Governor for disrespecting the Royal Father, Michika Chiefdom and the entire good people of Michika.
