ADAMAWA CP ORDERS ALL DPOs TO LEAD NIGHT PATROL


 As part of strategy to curb cases of bandtry, kidnapping, armed robbery and the dreaded "Shila" boys in and around Adamawa state, the Commissioner of Police, CP Aliyu Adamu Alhaji, has directed all Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) across the state to lead night operations so as to curtail insecurity.


According to the CP, the night operations by the DPOs is a new strategy aimed re-dominating and reclaiming public space from criminals that are threatening the security situation of the state so as to ensure peace and stabilty in the society.


The CP in a statememt by the Image Maker of the Command, DSP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, and made available to NEWS PLATFORM on Tuesday, disclosed that the command had reinvigorated special security action plan to reinforce the ongoing fight against banditry, kidnapping, armed robbery, "Shilla" boys' activities and other crimes in the state. 


"The new special operation strategy which will be intelligence-led and community-driven will be carried out in a sustained collaboration with othe security agencies such as Vigilantes/Local Hunters", he added


It said that the CP during a meeting with Area Commanders, DPOs and Operational Commanders at the state headquarters in Yola on Monday, noted that the operation is a good initiative and will critically check the pattern and trend of crimes being perpetrated in the state. 


It stated that there shall be a massive and well-planned deployment of both human and operational assets of the command to reinforce and consolidate on keeping Adamawa safe.


CP said that the frequent night operation is aimed at dislodging bandits from their current operational spaces and denying them space to regroup in other parts of the state, assuring that all the arrested bandits and their collaborators will be brought to book. 


He assured the government and the people of the state that the Command will continue to do all within its powers to guarantee a stable security across the state, and called on the public to assist police and other security agencies in their joined task of safeguarding Adamawa, especially in the area of providing useful, relevant and timely information.
