Operatives of the Adamawa state Police Command attached to Toungo Division in Toungo Local Government Area have killed a suspected kidnapper and rescued 2 victims in a gun duel.
The command's operatives in collaboration with Pula'aku Hunters Association in the LGA also recovered an AK 47 rifle and charms from the suspects.
The command in a statement by its Image Maker, DSP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, and made available to NEWS PLATFORM, explained that the Command received report from one Alhaji Ahmadu Tambaya, Chairman Pulaku Hunters Association in the LGA that armed men numbering 6 invaded the house of one Ibrahim Buba, situated along Kasuwan Ladi village in Toungo.
DSP Nguroje added that the gunmen fired sporadically and in the process kidnapped Salihu Umar, 14 and Musa Male, 11.
According to him, the Commissioner of Police, Aliyu Adamu Alhaji, immediately deployed the command's machineries to augment the strength of the operatives attached to Toungo Division and ordered them to go after the Kidnappers.
The rescue team had while engaging the kidnappers in gun battle, neutralized one out of 6 suspected Kidnappers and rescued the two victims unharmed, saying that the remaining Kidnappers escaped with bullet wounds.
CP Alhaji, however appealed to the general public to continue in furnishing/reporting to the police any suspicious character around their neighborhood more especially anyone seen with bullet wounds.
The statement stated that the were victims were reunited with their families after medical examination.
