ADAMAWA LAWMAKERS ENACT 23 LAWS, 74 RESOLUTIONS IN 2 YRS

 


The 7th Adamawa State House of Assembly has passed no fewer than 23 bills and 74 resolutions in the last 2 years.


According to the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas, out of the 23 bills enacted, 18 were duly assented by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, for good governance in the state.


During the period under, he added that the Honourable Members introduced 41 bills and unanimously passed 23, while the remaining 21 are currently undergoing legislative processes.


The Speaker who made this known while presiding over the resumed plenary session today, lauded his colleagues for the giant strides recorded so far.


He used the avenue and welcome them to the new legislative year, and urged them to redouble their effort with a view to providing robust representation to their teeming electorate in their various constituencies.


NEWS PLATFORM recalls that the Honourable House and several other assemblies were shut down for over 2 months due to industrial action embarked upon by the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN).
