ADHA TO INVESTIGATE KILLINGS OF HUNTERS' COMMANDER, CHAIR MIYETTI ALLAH IN SONG LGA

 


Members of the Adamawa State House of Assembly have taken steps towards unravelling the circumstances surrounding the gruesome murder of the Commander Local Hunters Association Adamawa state, Adamu Dogo Livo, and the Chairman Miyetti Allah Association Song branch, Gide Alhaji Manya.


It is against this backdrop that the Legislators on Monday passed 7 resolutions aimed investigating the 2 separate killings and proffering a lasting solution on the security challenges bedeveilling Song Local Government Area in the state.


NEWS PLATFORM exclusively reported that some unknown persons recently stoned the Commander of the Hunters to dead and shot the Chairman Miyetti Association Song Local Government branch more than 10 times and left him lifeless.


The resolutions unanimously adopted by the Legislators include; deployment of more securtity agencies to the affected areas in Song LGA, mandating the Standing Committee on Security to investigate the killings, and the resolution that anybody found wanting should be punished accordingly.


The Lawmakers further resolved and directed all the Local Government Councils Chairmen to regularly hold security meetings involving relevant stakeholders with a view to addressing all grey areas, and that the major religious leaders should strive towards preaching peace to their subjects.


Furthermore, the Members have ordered the State Emergency Management Agency(ADSEMA) to provide some relief materials to the affected, and that the stakeholders and security agencies should liaise to nip insecurity in the bud.


The resolutions of the Legislators followed a matter of urgent public importance sponsored by the Member representing Song constituency, Hon. Simon Isa, at the resumed plenary session today.


Earlier, Hon. Simon, brief the Honourable House on the killing of Dogo and Gide, whom he described as major stakeholders in the security sector not only in Song, but the State in general, saying that himself and Song constituency received the news of the murder of the 2 personalities with a rude shock. 


Hon. Simon, had while praying his colleagues to consider the number of prayers he tabled before the hallowed chamber, he however decried the insecurity situation and emphasized that measures should be taken by the authorities concern towards ending it.


Several Legislators including Hon. Abdullahi Umar Yapak(Verre), Hon. Joseph Ayuba Kwada(Michika), Hon. Japhet Kefas(Gombi), Hon. Kate Raymond Mamuno(Demsa), Hon. Hammantukur Yettisuri(Jada Mbulo) and Hon. Myandassa Bauna sympathised with the people of Song and the State over the killings.


According to the Mermbers, it is high time now for the perpetrators of such dastadly acts to go scot free and called for adequate measures towards checkmating it, and further commended Hon. Simon Isa for bringing up the matter for deliberation.


After contributions from cross section of the Members, the Deputy Speaker, Hon, Pwamwakeno Mackondo, who presided over the sitting, directed the clerk to communicate the resolutions as adopted by the members to the relevant authorities.
