In continuation of its oversight function on rural feeder roads being rehabilitated by Rural Access and Mobility Projects (RAMP II) in the state, the Adamawa state House of Assembly Standing Committee on Infrastructure and Community Development has commended the quality of work executed on Ndikong road in Mayo Belwa LGA.
The House Committee headed by Hon. Alhassan Hammanjoda (Ganye) has embarked on an on the spot assessment of the RAMP II road projects so as to ascertain the level of work so far executed in some Local Government Areas.
Already, the Committee had visited Toungo- Kiri, Longa ewa- Wuro Abbo, Kola-Boshikiri, Shelleng -Bakta in Toungo, Jada, Guyuk and Shelleng Local Government Areas.
While the Committee lauded the quality of work executed in some LGAs, it however called for improvement on others so as to be of standard for the benefit of the communities.
Speaking to newsmen shortly after inspecting Poll Waya- Ndikong road in Mayo Belwa LGA Monday, the Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Alhassan Hammanjoda (Ganye) said that his Committee is satisfied with the level of work carried out on the road so far.
Hon. Alhassan said that so far the work is going on well and called on the construction company to put in more effort so as to complete the work based on the terms of agreement.
The lawmaker urged on the contractor to involve locals as labourers in the construction work for them to benefit from it.
According to him, his Committee members are carrying out their constitutional responsibility by going out to see for themselves the implementation of what they had budgeted for the executive arm.
In his remarks, the executive Chairman Mayo Belwa LGC, Hon. Gershon Kasuwa appreciated the World Bank, the State Government and RAMP II for awarding the rehabilitation of the roads in his LGA.
Hon. Kasuwa specifically thanked the House Committee for the visit, saying that the visit will make the construction company to be more serious in handling the work.
Speaking while leading the Committee on the side of the project, the Project Manager, China Zhonghao, Li Jinqiang thanked the Committee and assured them of the readiness of his company to completing the work as agreed.
