TRADERS DRAG AUTHORITIES OF YOLA SHOPPING COMPLEX TO COURT..HINGE CLAIMS ON BINDOW'S DIRECTIVES

Ex-Governor Muhammad Umar Jibrilla of Adamawa state

No fewer 7 Traders at Jimeta Shopping Complex in Yola, the Adamawa State capital have dragged the authorities of the complex to a Yola High over alleged attempt to dispose access road to unsuspecting buyers.

The Traders led by Salihu Abdulrauf told the court that the access road in contention is between shops and backside of the Police Station in the complex and it is used like emergency exit for shop owners and customers in emergency situations.

According to the complainants, the access road is also used as car park for traders and that it is the only available space where traders park their vehicles in the market.

The Traders alleged that the authorities of the complex are making plans to dispose the land to unsuspecting buyers illegally and secretly, saying that they had met the Secretary of the complex, Husseini A. Kyari and informed him that disposing the place will directly affect them.

They added that the Secretary of the complex told them that nothing will stop the authorities from selling the place because the Government of erstwhile Muhammad Umar Jibrilla had given them authority to sell it.

The Traders in suit number ADSY/44/2019/, was filed on 2nd April, 2019, by Salihu Abdulrauf and 6 others against Hussein A. Kyari, Secretary of the complex and other authorities of the complex.

The High Court presided by Hon. Justice Nathan Musa adjourned the matter to 12th February, 2020 for ruling.
