JUDGEMENT: ADAMAWA NUT CELEBRATES WITH FINTIRI, HAILS VERDICT

The Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) Adamawa state chapter has congratulated Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri over his victory at the supreme Court on Tuesday.

The Apex Court on Tuesday in Abuja, upheld the election of Governor Fintiri as duly elected Governor and dismissed the appeal brought before it by All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state for lacking in merit.

This was contained in a statement personally signed by the Chairman of the union, Comrade Rodney Nathan, and made available to NEWS PLATFORM in Yola, the Adamawa state capital today.

The NUT boss insisted that the affirmation of Fintiri as the Governor of Adamawa state by court was a perfect will of God and electorate which according to him will advance positive development in the state.

According to him, the verdict has no doubt laid to rest the legal tussle over the victory of the ruling Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, and however gave kudos to judiciary for defending the mandate of the citizens in the state.

Furthermore, Comrade Rodney made a passionate appeal on the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) to join hands with the "Fresh Air Governor" to move the state forward.

On the part of the union, he declared that it members are committed to complementing the effort of the government towards revitalising the education sector, pledging unalloyed support and corporation of the union and its members for success of the government of the day.
