ADHA M/LEADER DISTRIBUTES FOOD ITEMS, CASH TO CONSTITUENTS



The member representing Demsa constituency at the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Kate Raymond Mamuno, has distributed bags of rice, maize as well as cash to her constituents.


The food items as well as cash were distributed to electorate across 10 political wards which comprise Demsa constituency.


Speaking while flagging off the distribution at Government Lodge in Demsa LGA today, the Speaker of the assembly, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, described the event as unique and commended the only female legislator for the food intervention programme.


Rt. Hon. Bathiya, thanked Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, for his support to the members of the assembly which assisted them in carrying out their constituency projects aimed at ameliorating  hardship being faced by their electorate.


According to him, some legislators supplied herbicides, water pumps, sewing machines, sank boreholes for their constituents, and applauded the decision of the member to provide foodstuffs for distribution as part effort to fighting hunger.


In her remarks, the member representing Demsa constituency, Hon. Kate Raymond Mamuno, appreciated her electorate for their support to her, saying that it was not her effort but God who made it possible for her to carry out the programme.


Hon. Kate, who is the Majority Leader and only female legislator at the assembly, specifically thanked Governor Fintiri for always supporting the Hon. Members to provide people oriented projects ti their electorate.


She also appreciated the women folks for their support to her, saying that as mother, she loves women and ready to reciprocate the gesture.


She urged her electorate to appreciate and make use of the little that she was able to provide and appealed to those that could benefit from the gesture to exercise patience and wait for another time.


Also speaking, the Commissioner Ministry of Information and Strategy, Hon. James Iliya, thanked the member for providing food items for her electorate, saying that the intervention came at a right time considering the level of hunger in the society.


In his comment, the Director General Poverty Alleviation and Wealth Creation Agency (PAWECA) Dr. Michael Zira who was represented by the Director Monitoring and Evaluation, Sani Abdulkadir, described the event as unique and commendable.


He lauded the lawmaker's decision to provide food items to her electorate and thanked Governor Fintiri for approving constituency allowances for the members to execute constituency projects.


In his goodwill message, the Chairman Adamawa State Polytechnic Governing Council, Prof. Chril Ubale, said that the member has done what is expected of her, saying he is optimistic that more intervention programmes are in the pipeline.


Speaking, the Executive Chairman Demsa LGC, Hon. Akham Jalo, said that member has been empowering her electorate from time to time, and recalled that during her campaigns, she had promised to provide good representation to her electorate.


He said that they were at the government lodge because of the love the member has for her people, and hailed her for fulfilling her campaign promises.


He said that the government is doing everything possible to fight hunger in the society, and urged them to appreciate and use the food items distributed to them.


In his welcome address, the Chairman of the PDP Demsa LGA, Hon. Zidon A. Wanos said that the member is representing the entire Demsa electorate and not PDP members alone.


He commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his magnanimity and concern for the well-being of the citizens and the members to carry out the intervention programmes.


He further applauded Governor Fintiri for his steps in tackling insecurity more especially farmers and herders clashes, explaining that his effort has been yielding positive result.
