ADHA PASSES BILL ON ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY

 


Adamawa State House of Assembly on Tuesday, passed a bill for a law to amend the State Environmental Protection Agency Law.


The passage of the agency law was sequel to a motion by the Majority Leader, Hon. Kate Raymond Mamuno (Demsa) and seconded by the member representing Michika constituency, Hon. Moses Yerima Zah.


Hon. Kate Mamuno and Hon. Yerima Moses Zah, respectively, had while sponsoring the motion for the passage of the bill, urged the assembly to pass it in the interest of the state.


The legislation is tagged," A bill for a law to amend the Adamawa State Environmental Protection Agency Law No 3 of 2021 so as to modify the qualifications of the Executive Director and Secretary of the agency".


After the passage of the bill, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, who presided over the sitting, directed the Clerk to the assembly to prepare a clean copy for Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri's assent.
