ADAMAWA: TRIBUNAL TO MENTION PETITIONS AGAINST 8 LGC CHAIRMEN THURSDAY



The Local Government Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Yola, Adamawa state has fixed Thursday, 15th August, 2024, for the mentioning of 8 petitions filed against new LGCs Chairmen.


The petitioners are seeking the disqualification and nullification of the recent LG poll which saw the emergence of all PDP candidates.


The tribunal presided by Hon. John Daniel, will mention 8 petitions brought before it by some candidates of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).


The aggrieved ADC candidates have dragged Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC), PDP and newly elected Chairmen and joined them as parties in the petitions.


The petitions expected to be mentioned tomorrow were filed by Mohammed Jalo, Mustapha Yusuf, Abraham Innocent, Ja'afaru Umar, Khalled Yaro and Zacharia Adamu Umar ADC candidates for Gombi, Song, Girei, Maiha, Mubi North and Jada LGAs.


Other petitions were instituted by Muhammed Lawan Bello and Shehu Inuwa, both ADC Chairmanship Candidates for Fufore and Yola North LGAs respectively.
