The Adamawa State House of Assembly has passed a bill for a law to establish the Adamawa State Water Supply and Sanitation Service.
The bill was passed by the hallowed chamber at a resumed plenary during the week presided by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley.
The bill is tagged, "A bill for a law to Establish the Adamawa State Water Supply and Sanitation Service Law, 2024, and provide for other matters incidental thereto".
The passage of the bill followed a motion for its third reading by the Deputy Majority Leader and member representing Maiha constituency, Hon. Ahmed Jingi Belel and seconded by Hon. Moses Yerima Zah (Michika constituency) during resumed plenary.
After the enactment of the bill, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, directed the Clerk to the assembly to prepare a clean copy of the bill for Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri's assent.
Likewise, the State Lawmakers during the week, read for the third time, a bill for a law to establish the Adamawa State Teachers Service Commission.
The Honourable members also passed a bill for a law to repeal Adamawa State College of Nursing and Midwifery law number 2 of 2017 and re-enactment of Adamawa State College of Nursing Science law.
Equally, the legislators passed a bill is for a law to establish the Adamawa State Health Supplies Management Agency Law 2014, which repealed the Adamawa state essential drugs programme edict 1996.
Likewise, a bill for a law to repeal College of Agriculture Ganye, Law No. 15 of 2016 and re-enact, Adamawa State College of Agriculture, Science and Technology successfully scaled 3rd reading at the assembly.
Thereafter, the Speaker also directed the clerk to the assembly to prepare clean copies of the bills for assent.
