NUMAN LAWMAKER DISTRIBUTES MULTI-MILLION NAIRA EMPOWERMENT ITEMS TO CONSTITUENTS



As part of his commitment towards providing people oriented representation, the member representing Numan constituency at the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Pwamwakeno Mackondo, on Saturday distributed assorted empowerment items to his constituents.


Rt. Hon. Mackondo, distrbuted empowerment items including water pumps, knapsack sprayers, herbicides, liquid fertilizer, bags of rice, maize and N20,000 to 500 people each and over million naira medical bill to one of his electorate.


The Mega Empowerment Programme was organised by Rt. Hon. Mackondo and former Deputy Speaker of the assembly with a view to cushioning the effect of hardship being faced by his constituents.





During the event, hundreds of the electorate in Numan constituency who benefited from the gesture, applauded the lawmaker for the gesture and wished a successful tenure.


Speaking while flagging off the distribution of the items at Government Lodge in Numan LGA, the Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, commended the lawmaker for the empowerment programme.


Rt. Hon. Bathiya, told the gathering that providing foodstuffs among other items to the citizens at this material time will go along in cushioning the effect of hardship being faced by the electorate.


He stated that the decision by the Honourable Member to launch food intervention programme is commendable and further thanked the lawmaker for his food support to his electorate.



He used the opportunity and appreciated Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his financial support to the legislators to enable them carry out constituency projects and appealed to the beneficiaries to make effective use of whatever empowerment items collected for the benefit of their families.


In his remarks, the Member representing Numan constituency, Rt. Hon. Pwamwakeno Mackondo, said that the event was not the beginning of his empowerment programme, explaining that he has been carrying out such programme from time to time.


Rt. Hon. Mackondo, pointed out that he was aware of the hardship people are facing which is not only in his constituency but cut across the nation; hence, his decision to support them with the food items as well as agricultural input to boost food production.


He stated that the what he was able to provide through PAWECA will not be enough for everybody to get and pleaded with those that could not benefit to exercise patience and wait for another time.


He appreciated their support to him and Governor Fintiri led administration and promised to continue in providing good representation for the progress of Numan and Adamawa state in general.


Baring his mind, the DG of PAWECA, Dr. Micheal Zira, who was represented by the Director Monitoring and Evaluation, Sani Abdulkadir, commended the members for their support to the present administration.


Also speaking, the Chairman Numan LGC, Hon. Innocent Koto, gave pass mark to the member for meeting the yearnings and aspirations of his electorate, saying that lawmaker has been doing well at the assembly.


Hon. Koto lauded Governor Fintiri for his developmental projects and pledged to continue in supporting the member and Governor Fintiri led administration to enable them provide dividends of democracy.


In his goodwill message, the Hama Bachama, Homun Daniel Ismail Shaga, who was represented by Pwavi Timo, hailed the member for coming to the aid of his elctorate at this material time, saying that the lawmaker has been doing what he was elected to do.


In his welcome address, the PDP Chairman Numan LGA, Hon. Pwadidi Hassan, disclosed that the electorate in Numan did not make mistake in re-electing Hon. Mackondo, and commended the gesture.


Hon. Pwadidi pledged the readiness of Numan electorate to support legislator as well as Governor Fintiri to enable them continue in providing good governance for the citizens.
