Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a man for allegedly abducting and killing 8 years old first cousin identified as Muhammed Auwal (aka Khalifa).
The 22 years suspect known as Muhammed Mustapha of Madina, Mubi North LGA was arrested on the 27th July, 2024 after committing the crime.
A statement by the spokesman of the police command, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, said that the unfortunate incident happened on the 25th July, 2024, at Madina ward, Mubi North LGA.
According to SP Nguroje, the suspect had kidnapped and held the boy captive and demanded a ransom of N2.8 before releasing him.
He said that the accused intoxicated his victim and later strangulated him leading to his death.
He explained that the suspect was arrested by the Detective Officers of the command attached to State Intelligence Department (SID), following a complaint by Harris Muhammed, the victim’s father who doubles as uncle to the suspect.
