Adamawa State House of Assembly has taken steps in order to restore the provision for mediation and arbitration in the public procurement law in the state.
To achieve this, the lawmakers during the week, commenced legislating on a bill aimed at restoring provision for mediation and arbitration in the law in the event of dispute.
The bill which is sponsored by the Member representing Numan constituency, Hon. Pwamwakeno Mackondo, has since been accorded necessary consideration by the legislators.
The bill is tagged, " A bill for a law to repeal Adamawa State Public Procurement (Amendment) Law, No 15 of 2020 and re-enact Adamawa State Public Procurement (Amendment) Law, 2024 so as to restore provision for mediation and arbitration in the event of dispute".
According to Hon. Mackondo, the bill is seeking to amend the old law in order to provide for mediation and arbitration in an event of dispute which has not been catered for in the old law.
