Adamawa State Police Command has vowed to enforce the order of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Usman Alkali Baba, on the total ban on the use of spy number plates.
To this end, the command has fixed the 14th July, 2022 for the return of such number plates by unathorised users or risk confiscation.
The command said that it is set to enforce the total ban on the use of spy number plates by vehicle owners across the state without exception.
The command in a statement by the spokesman, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, advised the public particularly vehicle owners using spy number plates either approved or otherwise to respectfully return to the office of the PPRO at the police headquarters today.
"The Commissioner of Police, S. K Akande, will not in any way allow violators and misguided elements to use the spy number plates unchallenged," Nguroje added.
He said that even security agents are not allowed to operates with such number plates, assuring that the Command and other security agents will confiscate the numbers from those found disobeying such order.
CP Akande, directed the Divisional Police Officers, Operational Commanders and their Supervisory Area Commanders to immediately enforce the order, adding that a Task Force Team which comprises of all security agents will be going round to ensure compliance and equally enforce it.
