"SHILA" BOYS IN SCHOOL UNIFORM LAUNCH ATTACK, SNATCH PHONES




Two criminal elements popularly known as ‘Yan Shila or Shila Boys who attacked as well as snatched mobile phones in Yola, Adamawa state capital have been remanded in prison custody.


The miscreants who appeared in the uniform of Capital Government Day Secondary School Yola, attaked 2 of their unsuspecting victims with a long knife and extorted their mobile phones.


It was gathered that the suspects including Madu Ibrahim and Husseini Abbas, who conspired with 6 others (now at large), dressed like students before attacking and extorting the phones.


NEWS PLATFORM learnt that 6 other suspected "Shila" Boys including Paul, Sani, Mohammed, Abdulrazak Yusuf, Joshua and Umar Mohammed who escaped arrest, currently wear school uniform with dangerous weapons before attacking and extorting people of their valuables.



Madu and Husseini were said to have armed themselves with the knife and attacked Margret Peter and Alhassan Yunusa on the 6th July, 2022, and made away with 2 of their phones valued N68, 000 only.


They were arrested and arraigned before Upper Area Court 4 in Yola, by the Prosecutor, Seargent Kabiru Abubakar for the offences of criminal conspiracy and extortion contrary to sections 60 and 282 of the penal code law.


The duo, who attacked their victims and snatched their handsets along Numan road by 5:00pm on that fateful day, had their luck run out as they were apprehended and arraigned in court.

 

After the substance of their offences as contained therein in the First Information Report was read over to them, both admitted perpetrating the offences as alleged.


It was this juncture that the court presided by Hon. Ibrahim Musa Ulenda, ordered their remand and adjourned the matter to the 26th July, 2022 for the purpose of corroboration and summary trial.
