Adamawa State Police Command has apprehended a 20 year old housewife, Caroline Barka, for allegedly stabbing her 38 year old husband, Barka Dauda to death.
The suspect who hails from Angwan Tamiya, Madagali LGA, engaged her late husband in a fight following an argument which ensued between them after the deceased returned home drunk and very late.
A statement by the image maker of the Command, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, which was made available to NEWS PLATFORM, said the suspect became angry with him for being a drunkard, keeping late night and failure to provide basic necessity for family.
He said the duo engaged themselves in a fight which resulted in the wife stabbing the husband as a result of which he fell down unconscious and was later rushed to the Hospital where he was confirmed dead.
"The suspect and nursing mother was arrested by the Police in Madagali LGA, on the 22nd July, 2022, following report received from a relative of the deceased", Nguroje said.
"Investigation so far revealed that the suspect being a nursing mother had a child with the deceased after 2years of marriage", Nguroje added.
He extended the commendation of the Commissioner of Police, S. K Akande, to the ocals and police for making it impossible for the criminals to escape justice, and directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police Investigation to take over the case and ensure that the suspect is prosecuted accordingly.
