Seven Special Hunters operating in Lafiya, Lamurde Local Government Area, Adamawa State have been remanded in prison custody for allegedly killing a man and setting the corpe ablaze.
The Chief Magistrate Court I ordered the remand of the Defendants upon arraignment before it for the alleged offences of criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide.
The Defendants include; Abubakar Hamman, Musa Mohammed, Musa Ibrahim, Ibrahim Nepa, Ibrahim Jibrilla, Yusuf Buba and Abdullahi Siniya.
According to the prosecution, the Special Hunters conspired and attacked the deceased identified as Danlami Kaura and killed as well as set the corpse ablaze.
The First Information Report tendered in Court by the Prosecutor, Inspector Zakka Musa, alleged that the Defendants gruesomely murdered their victim and burnt him beyond recognition.
Inspector Zakka added that the Defendants also threatened to attack one Bashir, but that he was lucky enough to have escaped from them.
But the Defendants denied committing the offences when the content of the FIR was read to them as prayed by the Prosecutor.
It was after the case was mentioned that Counsel to the Defendants, M. O. Otokpa, who was represented by M. P. Dangi, urged the court to admit the Defendants to bail.
The presiding Judge, Chief Magistrate Mohammed Buba, adjourned the matter to the 13th July, 2022 for ruling on the bail application and ordered the remand of the Defendants.
