The Adamawa State Police Command is set to inaugurate the National Police Day which is expected to be celebrated every 7th of April, every year.
A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, said that the inauguration will take place today and invited all community members to join and celebrate occasion.
SP Ngurore, said that the event was initiated in response to the presidential directive to establish an annual National Police Day aimed at honouring the invaluable contributions and commitment of our police officers.
According to him, the command also seeks to strengthen community relations and enhance public trust through police /Community engagement.
He explained that from today 2nd to 7th, April, 2025, the Command will host a series of community engagement programmes designed to foster a spirit of collaboration and humanitarian services.
The planned activities include Free Medical Service Outreach, Sanitation and Cleanup of Public Spaces,Town Hall Meeting with Critical Stakeholders.
Other activities are School Outreach: Campaign Against Cultism and Social Vices, and Walkathon for Strength and Partnership Building.
He disclosed that the Police Boss is enthusiastic about the landmark event and is committed to ensuring a safe and secured environment, building and promoting public trust and enhanced the well-being of our community.
"The Command is dedicated to celebrate National Police Day as an annual tradition honouring our officers while reinforcing their essential role in ensuring safety and promoting peace in the state.
"The public are here by encouraged to actively participate in these activities and work with the police to create a safer and secured society". He stated.
