Invest in Solid Minerals as Viable Alternative to Oil-Sen Amos Yohanna Urges FG



The Senator representing Adamawa North Senatorial District, Amos K. Yohanna has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, led Federal Government to look inward and invest in mineral resources as a viable alternative to oil.


Distinguished Senator Amos, stated this when the House standing Committee on Solid Mineral Development embarked on an oversight tour on the proposed side of the University of Mining and Geo-sciences in Jos, Plateau State, led by its Vice Chairman, Senator Mustapha Kabir.


Senator Yohanna explained that the institution will not only enhance exploration and processing of the abundant mineral resources in the country but will also see to the management of the resources.


"What the private companies are doing on the Plateau, in particular about mining is very commendable, government should definitely come in and invest heavily because the solid mineral sector is more lucrative than oil" he added.


He promised to continue to support bills that will not also improve the nations economy but have a direct bearing on the lives of the citizens.
