Pene Da Bwatiye Devt Association Pledges to Promote Peace, Harmony

The President of the Pene Da Bwatiye Development Association Worldwide, Chief James Iliya, has reaffirmed his commitment to promoting peaceful coexistence among all Bwatiye communities and their neighbors as a core part of his leadership agenda.

Chief Iliya described the Bwatiye people as loving, peaceful, and accommodating, emphasizing that the association remains firmly rooted in its cultural values that promote mutual respect, understanding, and harmony.

He made these remarks during a courtesy visit to Ardo Bawuro Hri at Kedemure village in Demsa Local Government Area, following the death of his son, Buba Ardo. The tragic incident was as a result of an altercation with Sunday Jackson, which ultimately resulted in a Supreme Court judgment.

While commiserating with Ardo Bawuro Hri, the elders, and the entire Kedemure community, Chief Iliya prayed for the peaceful repose of the deceased’s soul and asked God to grant the family the strength to bear the loss.

He also emphasized the long-standing peaceful relationship between the Bwatiye and Fulani communities, urging both groups to continue working together for the progress and development of their people.

Chief Iliya expressed appreciation for Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s peace-driven programs and policies in Adamawa State and called on all communities to align with these initiatives to foster sustained development and unity.

In response, Ardo Bawuro Hri expressed gratitude for the visit and, as a devout Muslim, stated that he had forgiven everyone involved in the events that led to his son’s death, believing it to be Allah’s will. He assured that his people, known for their peaceful nature, have already taken steps to prevent a recurrence of such unfortunate incidents.

Prayers were offered for the repose of the deceased’s soul during the visit.

Notable members of the delegation included Wakili Fulani Bachama, Alhaji Maikano – an elder of the Bwatiye community; Ismaila Murey – Youth Leader and Liaison Officer of the Bachama; and other respected leaders of the Association.
