Fintiri is Poised to Make Adamawa World Cultural Capital-Adafest C'ttee

 



The Media and Publicity Committee of Adamawa State Mega Cultural Festival has assured that Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, is committed to making Adamawa State World Cultural Capital. News Platform 


The committee stated this on Tuesday, during a courtesy visit to various media organisations including Adamawa Television Corporation (ATV), Yola, Gotel Communications, FRCN Fombina FM and Nas FM.


The committee embarked on the courtesy visit to media organisations where it sought for partnership ahead of the Adafest scheduled to commence on the 25th April, 2025 in Yola, Adamawa State Capital.


It is also expected to visit Nigeria Television Authority (NTA), Yola, Usaku FM, Adamawa Press Limited, Publishers of the Scope Newspaper, Sunshine FM and Adamawa Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) Yola on Wednesday.


Speaking while leading the delegation during the visit at various media outlets, the Chairman of the committee, Associate Prof. John Ngamsa, said that the visit was to formally intimate the General Managers of the media outfits about the forthcoming event and seek for their support and cooperation for the success of the event.


Prof. Ngamsa, who was represented by Mr. Pheneas Padio, told the GMs that the Commissioner Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Hon. Aloysious Babadoke, had planned to lead the team himself on the visit but was assigned to visit all the chiefdoms and emirates as part of preparations for historic event.


He disclosed that Adafest will be showcasing 100 ethnic groups that are in Adamawa State, entertain the world with 63 cultural dances, showcase over 200 cuisines that are indigenous and to demonstrate agricultural capabilities, bravery among others.


He said that Adafest will also unveil a compendium with rich content about 100 ethnic groups in Adamawa state, assuring that the document will enable people and researchers to know more Adamawa state, its people and their diverse cultural background.


According to him, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri is committed towards ensuring that one day Adamawa State becomes a place where people from all continents will come and interact with cultures and appreciate it.


He commended Governor Fintiri for his foresight and for coming up with idea in order to bring rich cultural heritage in Adamawa State to limelight so as to tilt or direct traffic to the state with a view to boosting internally generated revenue profile of the state.


He noted that every dream of Governor Fintiri it is as good as a reality because according to him, he follows it up with clearly spelt out approaches until logical conclusion.


He explained that they have seen it in infrastructural development, cultural emancipation, provision of education to the youth, media friendly approaches and in many other critical sectors.


Responding, the Acting General Manager ATV, Charity Kande Garba, expressed appreciation for the visit and thanked the Governor for reviving the culture, saying culture defines people.


Also responding, the Head of News and Current Affairs of Gotel Communications, Aliyu Ahmad, congratulated Fintiri for idea, saying they used to witness such events in other places and noted with delight the decision to host it in Adamawa state.


On their part, the GMs of FRCN FM Fombina and NAS FM, Dahiru Garba Muhammad and Yusuf Kidafa, thanked the committee for visit and assured of adequate coverage throughout the event.
