Adamawa Lawmaker Organises Prayers for Peace, Unity, Donates Chairs, Mats to Churches, Mosques



In the spirit of Easter celebration, the Member representing Lamurde constituency at the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Bauma Myandasa, on Monday, organised prayers for peace, unity and good governance in the society.


During the historic event, Hon. Bauna Myandasa, donated 2,100, Chairs to 70 churches and 700 pieces of mats to 34 mosques cut across 10 wards in Lamurde including Wadugu, Suwa, Ngwebonge, Opalo, Lafiya, Ngbakawo, Rigange, Gyawana, Dubwangun and Lamurde.


Equally, Hon. Bauna Myandasa donated sound system to the pastor of his church, 100 Wrappers to Protocol, yards to several elderly persons and blankets to his electorate and the sum of N1million for the transportation of the items.


Aside distributing the items to his electorate, the PDP Legislator awarded contract for the construction of 10 boreholes across the wards in Lamurde LGA with a view to providing portable water supply to his constituents.



Also, during the event, the PDP Caucus Dubwangun ward in the LGA, presented an award of excellence and good governance to the Member representing the constituency and urged him to do more for the progress of his constituency.


Hon. Myandasa Bauna, donated the items at the Inter-denominational and Interfaith Easter Prayers which he personally organised and held at his hometown in Dubwangun in Lamurde LGA. 


The event which was the first of its kind in the constituency, attracted hundreds of people who took their time and prayed for peace, unity and good governance in Lamurde LGA, Numan Federation, Adamawa and the nation in general.


Several dignataries including Hon. Titus Solomon, Commissioner Ministry of Rural Infrastructure, Hon. Daniel Bulus, Chairman Lamurde LGC, Legislative Council Members LG and Ward PDP Exco, Religious and Traditional Rulers, Women Fellowship from various Churches attended the event.




Speaking at the event, the Member representing Lamurde constituency, Hon. Myandasa Bauna, said that he decided to organise the event so that his electorate from both faiths will come together and prayer for the land.


Hon. Bauna, appreciated the religious leaders and their members for the time they took and prayed for peace, unity and good governance.


He said that there is nothing one can do for the society to remain peaceful and progressive except prayers, and thanked God for making his long term plan for such a meeting to become a reality.


On his donations of the items to the churches, mosques as well as individuals, Hon. Bauna, said that he had decided to do so to promote religious activities, unity and peaceful coexistence in his constituency.


He reiterated his commitment to continue to be transparent and accountable in his representation, saying that whatever that is meant for his electorate be it constituency allowances he will deliver it to them and vowed not to take dime out of whatever that is meant for his people.


He told the gathering that nobody will suspect a leader if he is transparent and accountable, and that their constituents know them very well and what they get in their respective offices.


According to him, what he gets in his stewardship is enough and he does not need to convert or divert what is meant for his constituents for his personal use and promised not to relent in providing quality representation.


He used the opportunity and commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his effort in bringing about peace and stability in the state and for his support to the House of Assembly, saying that the constituency allowances the Governor has been approving for the Lawmakers is commendable.


In his welcome address, the Chairman Lamurde LGC, Hon. Bulus Daniel, appreciated God for the safe journey He granted to all who attended the event.


He said that no land will be blessed without prayers and that it is only God who can heal the land, saying that the event was organised to enable them to come together and pray for the society.


He told the gathering that the only way forward for the country more especially in the area of security is returning to God in prayers for Him to heal the land.


In his extortation, the Chairman Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Lamurde LGA, Rev James Malik, urged them to do good so that people will remember them after exiting the world.


He reminded the gathering that whatever they do is what people will remember after their deaths, and adminished them to strive and touch the lives of people around them.


He said that the Lawmaker decided to organise the event so that he will be remembered for and called on them to emulate the Legislator so that people will remember their good deeds.


The Clergy described the day as a remarkable day in the history of the LGA which they will not forget about it and applauded the Member for remembering churches and mosques and commended him for providing good representation.


He disclosed that the the gesture was a surprise to all of them because nobody expected it and prayed God to reward him in many folds.


On his part, the Chairman Muslim Council of Nigeria Lamurde branch, Mallam Abubakar Ahmad, hammered on justice and fairness to all citizens and described the event as historic.


He commended the member for setting the pace, saying that no lawmaker has ever brought people of different religious background like the way Hon. Bauna has done  and challenged others to emulate him.


He hailed peaceful coexistence between Muslims and Christians and called on all the inhabitants of the LGA to continue to live in peace for the progress and development of the constituency.


According to him, it is as result of quality leadership that a leader can be able to bring people together just like the way the Lawmaker has done, and prayed God to continue to make him prosper and give him whatever he needs.


He commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for doing justice for the citizens, and attributed Fintiri's developmental strides and progress to the level of his justice to all citizens and the state in general.


Several stakeholders and beneficiaries who spoke at the event expressed satisfaction with the exemplary leadership of the Lawmaker and prayed God to reward him abundantly.
